Contraindicated Conditions / Symptoms:
Avoid if allergic to plants in the Lauraceae family (e.g., cinnamon, bay leaf, avocado) or the Zingiberaceae family (ginger, turmeric, cardamom, etc.)
Avoid if pregnant, working to become pregnant, or breastfeeding – Ginger, Cinnamon Bark, and Dried Cloves are emmenagogues, which can stimulate menstruation and may pose risks during pregnancy. In high amounts, green tea may interfere with folic acid absorption and caffeine can pass through breast milk, potentially causing sleep disturbances for babies.
Use caution if you have GERD, iron deficiency, glaucoma, gallstones, or osteoporosis
This tea includes blood thinning components; minimize consumption 1-2 weeks before surgery to reduce the risk of serious bleeding or bruising.
Potential Drug Interactions:
May increase the effects of MAOIs and/or diabetes medications, which could cause hypoglycemia or increase strain on the liver
Please consult with your doctor, pharmacist, or trusted herbalist if you take blood thinners, beta-blockers, MAOIs, medicines for high cholesterol, diabetes, blood pressure, and some cancer treatments
